Rev. Dr. Michael Parker

Rev. Dr. Michael Parker brings a wide variety of ministerial and academic experience to St. John’s pulpit.  Early in his life he aspired to serving Christ in the ministry of music.  This resulted in earning a BA in Music with a double major in choral and instrumental.  His work in the music ministry awakened an interest in theology and resulted in an MA in Theology.  From there, he went on to earn a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Cincinnati where his focus was ethics, social and political philosophy.  With a background of service to Christ in both Church and School, Dr. Parker presently carries on his teaching as an adjunct professor in philosophy, religion, and most recently accepting an assignment to assist a small college in their music program.  Rev. Dr. Parker is deeply committed to the local church as God’s primary vehicle for spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.
